Common terms people need to know about edge data centers


Data, equipment, and distributed computing are all important components of edge computing facilities. People need to understand edge computing components and how to use them at work.

6.Configuration drift

Because maintenance personnel are not always on-site at edge data centers, they sometimes fail during maintenance. Configuration drift is caused by inconsistent or temporary infrastructure updates and poor documentation on the network. As potential security breaches increase, this random process can lead to disaster recovery and high availability system shutdowns.

Database tools and software can help prevent configuration drift and security issues. It is also helpful to keep a detailed log of hardware network addresses, the latest software versions, and recent applications.
